How to Make Money in Old School Runescape

Sep 1

Money is the lifeblood of any MMORPG, and RuneScape is no exception. Whether you're a new player or have been around for years, there's always something to spend gold on--that being said it can be hard finding all those things in one place! New players should find some quick tips here that will net them more than enough coin for whatever they need while veterans might also learn about how day-to-day activities turn into lucrative ventures if done correctly.

Old School RuneScape is an MMO that was first released in 2013 and now has a mobile version. The game's developers, Jagex have made it possible for players to access the early levels of the game without paying any money and play them on their Android or iOS devices.

Along with less content due to using a free account, Jagex limited access to the Grand Exchange. Free players will need their account active for 24 hours or receive seven quest points in order to gain full benefits from this marketplace that is the source of making money for most methods and strategies.

Chop Various Woods

Chopping woods is a great way to make money and level up your Woodcutting skill!

After completing the tutorial head to Grand Exchange in Varrock and purchase an iron axe for 25 gold, or keep your bronze one from before! Head anywhere you like, but be sure to cut down trees along the way because each log can sell for 50 gold -- that's a lot of money for a newbie.

The more experience points you gain by cutting trees, the better axes become available at higher levels so it pays off if you're serious about Woodcutting.

Mine Ores

Varrock has a mine that players can go to and improve their Mining skills. With each improvement in your pickaxe, you should keep mining at the Varrock Mine for higher experience levels when iron ore becomes available. The goal is to reach level 15 by then so that you will be able to use it as well since they sell for 138 gold per piece on average.

Kill Cows

If you're looking for a relatively quick and easy way to satisfy your bloodlust, then this is the tactic for you. Cows are only level two in Old School RuneScape and do minimal damage. They can also be found just north of where a player starts in Lumbridge; each cow killed will drop a cowhide that players may sell or use as leather armor themselves!

You can make 138 gold by transforming your cowhides into hard leather. Take a nice stack of a couple hundred and head east to Al Kharid, which is just south-east from Lumbridge, and pay the toll or complete the Prince Ali rescue quest for access. Find Ellis at his tanning shop, turn those hides in with him where he'll do it for just 3 GP each.
